The Wimborne and Colehill Cricket Club is a Wimborne institution going back to 1793.
The Club’s ongoing battle to establish a long-term lease had led to insecurity and a lack of investment. Through substantial negotiation and community involvement the club released its land for retail development, was relocated within the town and provided itself with up-to-date facilities.
The building adopts traditional forms and materials which are detailed with a contemporary twist. The development of The Leaze site within the Green Belt and the Wimborne Conservation Area is an ideal use of the land supporting the objectives of recreational activity and landscape protection management.
